Vegan Chicago SQUAD events offer opportunities for members to engage in social justice work in our local communities. It's a time vegans can take action because the struggle for liberation is not a single issue.
We're happy to be able to partner with several organizations celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall by hosting Pride on the Northwest Side events.
This "Pride in the Preserves" will be the first of its kind! It's a LGBTQIA+ celebratory, family friendly picnic and afternoon of queer fun! Activities will include Drag Storytelling, Dress Up and Face Painting Stations and Games.
If you are LGBTQIA+ please feel free to join the fun! If not (or would rather), it's a great opportunity to volunteer in solidarity as a marshal with Vegan Chicago! Marshaling at this event will essentially be light security making sure the event goes smoothly and the space is safe for queer participants.
This will require standing/moving around for a few hours. We will provide light training before the event TBD.
