It’s time for one of our favorite events of the year; our annual visit to the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park to partake in a vegan finger food potluck and free concert!
As part of the Grant Park Music Festival, we will be enjoying A Mass of Life: A Celebration of the Human Spirit. Carlos Kalmar conducts this rarely performed, epic work—an exultant celebration intermingled with the contemplation of eternity—featuring the orchestra, an expanded chorus and an all-star line-up of vocalists (http://www.grantparkmusicfestival.com/2019-season/a-mass-of-life)
Our schedule is as follows:
6:00 – 6:30 p.m. - Space claim at the very back of the Great Lawn at Pritzker Pavilion. You may want to consider arriving earlier to enjoy a stroll through the nearby and very beautiful Lurie Garden: https://www.luriegarden.org/.
6:30 p.m. – Finger-food potluck on the lawn (no utensils required).
7:30 p.m. – Concert begins
What to bring:
1. Blanket or towel to sit on or a folding chair if you have one.
2. Vegan finger food (Suggestions: sandwiches/wraps, raw vegetables & dip, spring rolls, sushi, cookies, cupcakes). Please include an ingredients list with your contribution, as well as any utensils required for serving. Store bought food is fine as long as the ingredients are readily available.
3. Plate & napkin
4. Beverages – Your choice of beverage, which can include alcohol, as it is permitted in the park during the concert. There will also be beverages, both alcohol and non-alcohol, for sale on the premises. In the event it’s a particularly warm day, it's recommended that you bring water, even if you're also bringing other beverages.
When you RVSP, please note in the event comment box what you plan to bring for the potluck.
Please review Millennium Park's - Policies and Regulations for any restrictions and prohibited items here: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/mp0.html. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with them, as well as all other policies and regulations, prior to your arrival.
Upon each guest’s departure at the end of the evening, we ask that everything brought to the park be disposed of and/or taken away, including leftover food.
Millennium Park is easily accessible via public transportation, which is recommended. For those driving, parking is available in a number of parking garages in the area.
The lawn area where we'll be meeting is free. But, you can also purchase seats up-close in the pavilion here: http://www.grantparkmusicfestival.com/2019-season/a-mass-of-life
Please consider joining us for an evening of wonderful company, food, and music! Hope to see you there!
