VSDC Vegan Thanksgiving Day Celebration @Elife, Capitol Heights MD

Join the Veg Society of DC (VSDC) for a fun and festive Thanksgiving Day gathering at 1 pm at Elife Vegan Restaurant in Capitol Heights, Maryland. We are pleased to organize another gathering on this special day of gratitude, partnering with our good friends at Elife, an all-vegan and black-owned business. This event is on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 1 to 3 pm.
"Enjoy the fusion of ethnic soul food with a 100% vegan menu."

VSDC will show an informative ~20 minute video by Dr. Milton Mills about nutrition and a healthy vegan diet to reduce the risk of major chronic diseases. We will also show a short video on preparing 1 or 2 simple but tasty vegan dishes. Then be ready for a short, fun, and educational vegan trivia game with prizes!

The unbelievably low price for this event is only $22 which includes an entree and 2 sides.

The menu for the day will include Thanksgiving-oriented items from which to choose. These likely will be:

- Cornbread Dressing
- Mac & Cheese
- Collard Greens
- Kale Greens

- Fresh Cranberry Sauce
*Dessert - slices of over 10 varieties of cakes and pies, e.g. Sweet Potato Pie, Chocolate Cake, Cookies and Cream Cake, Pina Colada Cake, Bean Pie
Note: Dessert, beverages, and any additional items can be paid for on Thanksgiving Day directly to Elife.

PLEASE RSVP on this meetup page but you must prepay to Elife directly to be registered for this event. Again, the price for one entree and two sides is $22 plus tax and tip - a great price for Thanksgiving!

The location is Elife, 9033 Central Ave, Capitol Heights, MD 20743. There is ample free parking in front of the restaurant.

Note: Public transportation does not provide easy access to this location, esp on Thanksgiving Day. If not riding in a car to the event, then uber or lyft could be a good option to Elife from the Metro Blue line. Please check your options well in advance and decide how you can attend.

Elife has a seating capacity over 75 people so there is plenty of room.
