Weekend Hiking Trip @Shawnee National Park

We are planning our HIKING trip to Shawnee National Forest in September!
ATTENTION:
We will need to know if you plan to attend and if you are going to DRIVE to meet the group or if you would like to ride the commercial bus we can provide. (We need 10-14 riders to get a great price).
The $300 fee (will be confirmed May 1st) is for the following:
- Transportation RT from Chicago, IL
- Lodging for 1 night (we are going to split an Air BnB or Vrbo house)
- Food for Sat. AM breakfast, snack, and group dinner.
- Guide and hostess gratuity for the weekend.
- Hostess- Claudia will be cooking the VEGAN meals for the weekend.
Tentative schedule:
Saturday 21st
Sat. 7:00 a.m. Meet & Greet Breakfast (gear check, hiking trail mapping, safety and first aid review, team assignments).
8:00 a.m. Hike the first trail- Garden of the Gods
12:00 p.m. Meet back at our base camp
12:30 p.m. LUNCH
3:00 p.m. Afternoon hike- TBD (may be one of the vineyards)
6:00 p.m. Meet back at our base camp
6:30 p.m. campfire, mock/cocktails, event journaling and shenanigans before dinner.
7:30 p.m. DINNER
9:00 p.m. Open free time
Sunday 22nd
7:00 a.m. Breakfast and packing gear for check-out at 11:00 a.m.
8:30 a.m. Morning hike- TBD
11:00 a.m. Meet back at base camp to CHECK OUT
11:30 a.m. Tour locations- TBD before heading back to Chicago.
3:00 p.m. On the ROAD
8:00 p.m. Arrive back to Chicago.
Additional information will be provided by May 1st, so you can make a decision and reserve your spot(s) .
1- Lodging specifics (cost, address, etc)
2- Transportation specifics (bus service and fee)
3- Meals/ menu (2- breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner)
4- Retreat group information, housekeeping and rules for "adulting"
5- DUE DATES for your deposit and final date for your pay-off of trip
6- Suggested packing list for the weekend
7- Specific trails (3) that we will hike AND the terrain and difficulty.
This is an ADULT (21+ yrs. old) only retreat. We HIGHLY recommend you prepare your body for hiking hills and endurance for mileage. If you haven't been physically active ---start now. This trip will be challenging for the moderately active "weekend warrior".
