What we're about

This group is for vegans and veggies (or not) that like to try new things, forge valuable friendships and live their best life (but mostly like to eat).

Maybe you want to try new things or find people to hang out with. Dinner? A gig? Drinks? Or maybe something a little more adventurous? Sometimes you just want to go out with people you know you have a shared interest with. I'm all about making the most out of life and having cool people to share it with.

I will try to cover as many interests as possible and event suggestions are more than welcome.

Some not so cool things to bear in mind:

1. No profile picture (or a fake one). We don't do catfishes. I want people to feel as comfortable as possible by being able to recognise the people they are going to meet.

2. No shows 🔴 A red circle will be added to the profile of those who do not turn up to events. Please give as much notice as you can if you can no longer attend a Meetup. It's not fair to have me or anyone else sitting around waiting for people that won't show up.

3. This is not a dating group - we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome here. Share the love, but not too much 😉

4. Not having fun! Life's too short.

Join up and let's get this adventure started!

Can't wait to meet you

Books and Bites @ Chapter One

Chapter One Books

NOTICE: Book and Bites is changing! From June, the book club will be moved into it's own group. Please see the Vegan Cool Kids Message Board for more info. May's book: Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie Isma is free. After years spent raising her twin siblings in the wake of their mother's death, she is finally studying in America, resuming a dream long deferred. But she can't stop worrying about Aneeka, her beautiful, headstrong sister back in London - or their brother, Parvaiz, who's disappeared in pursuit of his own dream: to prove himself to the dark legacy of the jihadist father he never knew. Then Eamonn enters the sisters' lives. Handsome and privileged, he inhabits a London worlds away from theirs. As the son of a powerful British Muslim politician, Eamonn has his own birthright to live up to - or defy. Is he to be a chance at love? The means of Parvaiz's salvation? Two families' fates are inextricably, devastatingly entwined in this searing novel that asks: what sacrifices will we make in the name of love? A contemporary reimagining of Sophocles' Antigone, Home Fire is an urgent, fiercely compelling story of loyalties torn apart when love and politics collide - confirming Kamila Shamsie as a master storyteller of our times. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember to RSVP responsibly - places are limited so only RSVP if you are available to attend. No-show's are not appreciated! Kahmila xx
