Let's meet at the Albertson on the corner of W Charleston/Desert Foot Hills. Park in the area closest to the gas station.

Trailhead: West on SR 160 (toward Pharump) for about 3 miles past the Spring Mountain summit. Turn right on at the sign for Lovell Canyon. Go about 11 miles and turn left. Go about .25 (1/4) mile and see parking area on left.

The combined hike is roughly 8 miles and climbs approximately 800 feet. We will be on a well worn trail with shade most of the time. Having said that, the trail head is at 5,958 feet so you can expect around 10 degress cooler than most of Las vegas. But, we will start climbing immediately on the steepest portion of the trail.

This trail is in a figure 8. The lower part of the figure 8 is Lovell Canyon Trail and the top is Schafer Springs Trail loop. If 8 miles is too much, you may just do the the Lovell Canyon trail (6 miles) and return to your car. IF you do decide to only do the Lovell Canyon portion of this hike, make sure you drive yourself or carpool with those of the same agenda. IF you only complete the Lovell Trail portion of the hike, you will be on your own for the return. I will be doing the entire hike.

Although this hike has a couple of scenic moments, it is a mostly get outdoors hike. I will be keeping a moderate pace; so please be able to keep up.

Dogs and kids OK.

Bring water and a snack.

No guests unless this hike does not fill up.

Those on the attending list that do not show up will be suspended: 30 days first offense, 60 days 2nd offense, 3rd offense, please find other people to hike with.
