We have about 18 from our group going and 630 people signed up on the Facebook event page for the March. Just to recap, we are gathering at 12:30 infront of Duncan Plaza near City Hall 340 Loyola Ave and will be marching towards Jackson square. This is a kid and pet friendly event and we encourage signs for kids and pets too!!
We will be having a sign making get together at the Veg House this Friday (tomorrow) evening from 6 to 9pm, so bring your art supplies as we are limited to what we have. Our address is 615 Lyons St. Uptown between Magazine and Tchoup.
If you'd like more details, here is the Facebook event page. Hope many of you come out for this important cause!
The fight for our food!!
We will be meeting at Duncan Plaza at 12:30, so we can begin with the rest of the world at 1 p.m.
The ROUTE for the march:
Dispersing from Duncan Plaza (City Hall) at 1p.m., we make our way onto Poydras St. continuing along until we make a left turn onto N. Peter's St. which turns into Decatur where we end the march portion at the steps of Washington Square (across the street from Jackson Square). This is a 1.4 mile march. There is a rally following the march at Washington Square where individuals will have the opportunity to speak to the crowd. There will also be plenty of GMO/Monsanto literature to be given out to passer-bys, etc.
Don't forget your picket signs, your friends, children, or dogs!
