Vegetarian/Vegan Dinner at the new Peacefood Cafe Downtown (near Union Square)

**Come any time between 6pm and 9pm, stay as long as you want, or leave when you need to. You will get your own check, with tax and tip included.**

Peacefood Café Downtown is the newly opened sister restaurant of the very popular Peacefood Café UWS.  Bigger & cozier at nearly twice the size, easy to get to, and with the same yummy food as the UWS Peacefood Cafe. If you haven’t tried Peacefood Cafe but you heard raving reviews, then you must come and taste.  And if you’ve had it at the UWS, join us for another evening of great food and company at Peacefood Café Downtown.

NYCGo.com lists Peacefood Café as one of NYC’s healthiest restaurants.  “Trying to change your relationship with food? This is a good place to start. Indian-spiced chickpea fries are a swell snack, as are the pan-seared mushroom and chive dumplings with ginger-balsamic dipping sauce. The many facets of each dish breed indifference to animal protein. They do the same thing for refined sugar, especially when it comes to raw cacao mousse pie in a walnut-coconut-date crust. “  That’s something to be said!

Here's why, per Peacefood’s website: "We strive to be an innovative and exceptional vegan cafe. Our cuisine is transformational, healthy and delicious; prepared and served with mindfulness, gratitude and the intention to nurture. We offer the highest quality seasonal ingredients, selecting those that are locally grown whenever possible, endeavoring to ensure that your eating at Peacefood Cafe is joyful and memorable."

The praise continues with New York Magazine's take on Peacefood, "Vegan cafe/diner combo promises to please all but the most devoted carnivore." CBS New York rates its as one of the 10 best restaurants for Vegetarians in NYC: "At this elegant upscale vegan bakery and cafe, baked goods are made with spelt instead of flour. Even their vegan Caesar salad has spelt croutons. The chocolate chip cookie sandwich has a oozy-chocolate pudding like center in the middle of two crispy spelt cookies. Or try the grasshopper variety with a tangy mint filling."

Indeed, Peacefood is also known for their extensive and heavenly dessert menu, including tiramisu, cheesecake, macaroons, brownies, key lime pie, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. Per Culinary Society of Columbia University: “Many of the desserts vegans must constantly deprive themselves of were there: cupcakes, tiramisu, and brownies. We ordered both the tiramisu and a cinnamon bun; we were both amazed on how identical each tasted to its dairy filled alternative."

The Food Duo writes “Grasshopper Sandwich Cookie: Like a "gourmet" chocolate-peppermint whoopie pie!"

Blackbookmag.com writes: "Chickpea fries, fluffy quinoa salad, cardamom-coconut-banana shakes, roasted squash, raw cocao mousse pie - healthy, invigorating flavors and ingredients are a hit at this vegan cafe/bakery right by Union Square, peacefood's second location. Flanked with long front windows, red and black chairs, an ocean-inspired, soothing atmosphere - peace is exactly what you get here. And peace from the neverending food-guilt that stands after you gorge on cheesy nachos and burgers. Dining out - healthfully. It exists."

For those of you who have never attended one of our Meetup events: this is an incredibly friendly & welcoming group. It will be easy to find our group: just walk to the back. We have reserved the entire back section of the restaurant for our group. Everyone gets their own check, with tax and tip included. Easy!

** You are welcome to show up anytime between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. You may stay the whole time, or feel free to leave whenever you need to.**

Come join us for a fun filled, great tasting, and healthy vegan dinner.
