I may be somewhat partial, however, there’s no place like NYC during the holiday season. During this annual festive period, the streets and shops are buzzing, the iceskating rinks are filled with figure eights, arabesques, camel spins while onlookers cozy together sipping on hot chocolate or mulled hot apple cider.
At Bryant Park you may witness such events and perhaps even partake in them. The park is set up like a fairytale winter wonderland, with a gorgeous tree, a delightful skating rink, beautiful holiday decorations everywhere, and holiday, artist and food vendors in charming kiosks throughout the park -- these do beautifully add to the holiday spirit of the place, you will see (while you are sipping on your hot apple cider with cinnamon stick). I say we go on Thursday, December 5th and start off our night with a delicious meal from the vendor I consider the best of all -- Two Tablespoons.
Two Tablespoons, a kiosk located at Bryant Park, is run by a wonderful duo of creative vegetarian chefs, Katya Kosar & Gosha Danilov. They specialize in delectable, gourmet all-vegan chilis and stews -- perfect for the winter!
From their website: "Our goal is to make delicious vegetarian gluten free food from scratch using only wholesome ingredients with high nutrient density. We have a strong vision for sustainability of food business operation. We try to use as much of seasonal locally grown produce as possible. We are passionate about educating our customers about importance of eating healthy homemade meals and avoidance of any processed food. We love experimenting with flavours and creating original recipes, using inspiration from traditional world cuisines. We are focusing on creating meals that are nourishing and fun at the same time."
So let’s all enjoy the culinary delights of Two Tablespoons and continue to relish in the company of peace, joy and harmony as we always do at all of our events!
After getting our dinner at Two Tablespoons, we'll stroll through the park, taking in the sights and getting some hot apple cider. There are six or seven other food vendors with some other vegan food items. We will point these out to you. After our leisurely stroll and shopping, we will sit by the ice skating rink and munch on some additional vegan snacks for sale. Later, some of us will head over to the large bar (Celsius, with both indoor and outdoor/heatlamp seating) next to the skating rink -- all are welcome.
Where To Meet: We (Svetla, Tali and David) will meet you at 6:30 PM right on the corner of 42nd Street and 6th Ave (the Bryant Park corner of this street intersection). We will be looking for you, and holding a sign that says "MEETUP". From the corner we will direct you to the Two Tablespoons kiosk, where you can start your dinner along with the others in our group. (For latecomers, we will wait on the corner with our sign until 7:00pm.)
We are so looking forward to this beautiful holiday evening. Come join us.
Svetla, Tali and David
