Update: Feel free to arrive early at 6:30pm if you wish. Victoria will be additionally signing books from 6:30pm to 7:00pm if you would like your book signed early.
Victoria Moran is a bestselling author, who happens to be a vegan. Twice a guest on Oprah and author of 11 books on the topics of compassionate and healthy living, and spiritual philosophy, her books have been translated into 30 languages.
She is no Johnny-come-lately to veganism or her own brilliance. She has been a dedicated vegan -- and brilliant -- for decades: her college thesis became Compassion the Ultimate Ethic: An Exploration of Veganism, originally published in 1985 and the first work on vegan philosophy and practice to come from a major publisher.
Now she is focusing especially on the average person -- from "Main Street" -- and making an immensely convincing case for veganism together with a hugely helpful guide to the vegan lifestyle.
This groundbreaking book written by a master expositor is a landmark in the history of vegetarianism and veganism in the world. We have the opportunity not only to attend the premiere New York City book signing event for this book -- BUT ALSO exclusively for our group, the NYC Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup -- there will be an afterparty with Victoria solely for meetup group members. Members of our group will be able to sit back and chat with Victoria as we celebrate the publication of this new, highly persuasive, highly intelligent, hugely helpful, and fun guide to practical vegan living.
Moreover, at the book signing itself, we'll be treated to a free talk by Victoria on her book, and her decades of personal experience with being a vegan. It is sure to be a riveting and mind-expanding event, led by this charismatic and hugely gifted writer and storyteller.
If you decide to purchase a copy, you will of course have the opportunity to meet Victoria right at the book signing and have your book inscribed. And for those of us who wish to continue the conversation with Victoria and celebrate the publication of her book, we shall then move to a nearby establishment for light food or drinks where we can continue the fun and get to know Victoria better.
Joining her mother for a Q&A session will be the lovely Adair Moran, a vegan since birth. Adair has been working in NYC as an actress, playwright, and stunt peformer since 2000. When she’s not performing, writing or being set on fire, she enjoys growing her own fruits and vegetables and rehabilitating wild birds in her East Harlem backyard. As a collaborator with her mother, she helped shape this book. We'll get her own wonderful perspective on growing up vegan.
Please join us for Victoria's free talk at the beautiful Upper West Side location of Barnes & Noble (at the corner of Broadway & W. 82nd Street). When you enter the store, ask the staff where the book signing is (you'll probably also see signs directing you to it). Once you are in the area where Victoria is giving her talk, you'll see signs for our NYC Vegetarian & Vegan group. We'll be easy to spot. And after the talk, you can attend our afterparty with Victoria (FREE and EXCLUSIVE for our members - pay only for what you choose to eat or drink).
I am thrilled with the evolution of our group, and all the exciting things we are doing. This event is at the top of the list. I hope you can make it for this groundbreaking event, a landmark in the history of vegetarianism and veganism. Working with the delightful Ms. Moran has been a dream, and I am excited to be able to offer our members exclusive access to her at her official afterparty which is being hosted by us.
