Vegan Spirituality, with Lisa Tremont Ota, RD

On Wed., Sept. 27 at 6 pm, Lisa Tremont Ota, RD, author of The Sacred Art of Eating, will give a presentation on Vegan Spirituality. In this beautiful and experiential workshop, Lisa will lead us toward optimal levels of health while highlighting our relationship with food as a spiritual path that is both necessary and exciting.

Lisa says, "My mission is to bring us into closer relationship with the divine for the benefit of our individual, communal, and environmental well-being. As a young child, I became aware that there are factors that we both can and cannot control. Much of this understanding grew out of having suffered with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) during a time when it was generally unrecognized. I healed myself by surrendering. But, while my obsession with counting had been laid to rest, a new obsession arose: food, calories, and body weight. As such I pursued nutrition as a career path.

"As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with degrees in nutrition and spirituality, I am uniquely qualified to help us understand our dynamic relationship with food. My passion about the unbreakable links between food and spirituality is the result of over twenty years of academic, professional, and personal exploration."

First, enjoy a delicious full-course vegan dinner planned by a certified nutritionist, Patricia Allen Koot, NE, NC. ALL vegan, ALL health-supporting and ALL you care to eat! Bring a container!

We must rent the facility, Opera Plaza Community Room, and provide the food etc. So a fifteen dollar donation is requested. Both nutritionists are donating their time. Funds go toward facility rental, food, transport and other costs.
