SKYLER THOMAS LIVE, AND THE SHAME OF PT REYES, WED. JUNE 5 AT 6 PM
On Wed. June 5 at 6 pm, meet the producer of a compelling new documentary, "The Shame of Pt Reyes" Skyler Thomas will share with us his personal story, how he became a vegan and the urgent reasons he chose to produce the film.
Skyler’s film documents the alarming destruction of the environment in an area which not only abounds in natural beauty and a variety of indigenous species, but also is of great historical importance.
In the film, he exposes the cruelty in the dairy farms and ranches in Pt. Reyes. In doing so, Skyler and others have been exposed to warnings and even threats. But he has persisted in shedding light on an industry which should have been shut down decades ago.
That industry is actively destroying natural ecosystems, disrespecting native species and polluting our oceans. Skyler’s film asks important questions about these facts - which now more than ever we need to address head on.
After the screening, Skyler will shatter some myths and misconceptions about what is going on in Pt. Reyes.
Skyler Thomas is the founder and executive producer at White Shark Video, a nonprofit organization. His films have won prestigious awards. And he has given presentations at the California Academy of Sciences and many other venues.
