I hope that all of you can make it to this year's VegFest (formerly the Great American Meatout). Last year we had nearly 2,000 people through the doors, and we're anticipating that this year will be even bigger! A description of the event is below, and you can find out more at our website ( Also, don't forget, VegMichigan members get in free!!!!

VegFest is one of the country's premier vegetarian events that celebrates and teaches about an animal-free, plant-based lifestyle. Last year, nearly 2,000 people learned how to eat less meat for the benefit of their health, the planet and all its creatures. This year's event will be even bigger and better!

Meat eaters, vegetarians, raw foodists, vegans - everyone is welcome.

Speakers include Rory Freedman, best selling coauthor of the sassy and entertaining "Skinny Bitch' book series, and former Detroit Piston and dedicated vegan John Salley.

There will be delicious food to sample and purchase from local vegetarian-friendly restaurants as well as cooking demonstrations.

There will be exhibitors, entertainment and activities for kids, giveaways, literature and much much more!
