Come out to support our local independent bookstore in Ventura & make new friends! I’m going so thought i would share the event to our group. Timbre has 2 book clubs ~ a monthly one and a reader’s roulette exploring new genres, as well as providing a meeting place for a local “romantasy” book club (all shared under “happenings” on their website).
The book club is 6:30-7:30. Come early to socialize. This is Dublin murder squad book #1.

Join us for our third meeting of our new genre book club! Each month, we’ll explore a different genre—from sci-fi to memoir to magical realism—keeping our reading lives fresh and nudging us outside our usual preferences. It’s the perfect way to discover books you might never have picked up otherwise.
Our next genre is MYSTERY/THRILLER! We're reading IN THE WOODS by Tana French.
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.
Discussions are casual—anyone is welcome to join, whether you've finished the book or not (although beware spoilers!). Bring a pal, and a snack or bev to share!
