Orbitz is one of the most active sites in its market, logging 1.5 million flight searches and 1 million hotel searches on an average day. Facing scalability and performance challenges with its relational database, as well as soaring costs and reliability issues with its caching layer, this well-known company turned to Couchbase open source NoSQL technology. This session discusses how Orbitz replaced their enterprise software stack and now use Couchbase Server extensively across their site to achieve astronomical results in terms of scalability, reliability, performance, and cost savings.
