VGN Game Night - Various Games/Genres
Note: Disregard the RSVP count since many gamers who attend don't necessarily RSVP through meetup.com. There's been anywhere from around 10 - 65 gamers in attendance but the average game night lately has been around 30-40 gamers. Time & Place: from about 8:30p until about 1:30a; UH in the Student Center South Floor 1 - Commons/Lounge area ***Go down the walkway to the right immediately after going through the main entrance of the Student Center South. The main entrance for the Student Center South has an information desk immediately to the left after entering. The lounge area is right across from the Barnes & Noble store.*** Here are links to the Student Center's web pages where you can get info about directions or parking and a number that you can call for any further questions as well: http://www.uh.edu/maps/#map-parking-routes (For parking click this link, click Visitor/Metered, Gated Faculty/Staff, and Student, then find the Student Center South building. You will see blue parking icons directly in front and to the right of the Student Center South on the map. These spots/lots usually become available in the evenings to visitors for free parking unless there's some kind of special circumstances or changes. Check the signage in case there are changes. If there are any issues, call the number below. http://www.uh.edu/studentcenters/south/ [masked] What: Play various fighting games competitively or casually like Street Fighter, Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat, etc.; Play sports titles like NBA 2K, Madden, FIFA, UFC, etc.; Play shooters like Unreal Tournament, Call Of Duty, and Halo; We also play puzzle games like various versions of Tetris, action titles like New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, brawlers or hack'n'slashers like Warriors Orochi, and other games like Mario Kart, League of Legends, Wii Sports, etc. There are sometimes board and card games played as well, usually every other week. We sometimes chill afterwards at an after-hour restaurant or something. We do this depending on if people are hungry or not, etc. People will suggest an after-hours spot somewhere in the city and we've tried a nice variety of spots already. We've done Greek, a pizzeria, Mexican, Vietnamese/Chinese, traditional diners, and found some pretty good spots. It's just chill, eat, and discuss gaming, movies, comics, current events, or just whatever stuff that's going on. Consoles & Games: PS4, Wii U, usually Switch, 360, Dreamcast, PC, and sometimes, XBONE, PS2, 3DS, PS3, N64 Featured Game(s): Street Fighter V, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Smash Bros. Wii U Games Usually Played: Tekken 7, Injustice 2, King Of Fighters XIV, Dark Stalkers, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, a variety of old school fighting games, Madden 17, NBA 2K17 Games Sometimes Played: Splatoon, Killer Instinct, UFC, Mortal Kombat XL, Mario Kart 8, Guilty Gear XRD, Wii U Tetris, King of Fighters XIII, Gundam Extreme Vs., Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Virtua Fighter 5 FS, Injustice, SFXTekken, Black Ops III, Halo 5, Tetris PSN, Awesomenauts, etc. Other Games (Played At Past Game Nights Or Possibilities): Dance Central, Wii Sports Club, Unreal Tournament III, League of Legends, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, Soul Calibur V, Pokemon 64, Warriors Orochi, NCAA Football 14, Just Dance, Killzone 3, BlazBlue, Nintendo Land, MK9, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Gears of War 3, DJ Hero, New Super Mario Bros., etc. If anyone's interested in forming a competitive team for a certain game, contact the organizer or come by a game night.
