New Meetup: VGN Game Night 9/10

From: Joe
Sent on: Friday, September 4, 2009 4:36 PM
What: VGN Game Night 9/10

When: September 10,[masked]:00 PM

University of Houston University Center (UC)
4800 Calhoun Road
Houston, TX 77004

The next location for game night is at UH in the University Center - Aegean (Rm 82) in the underground of the UC, from 7p - 10:45p.

This room is much smaller than the Cougar Den or other rooms we usually are able to get. Plus we want to try something new, so for this game night we decided to only do 1 or 2 game genres. Last week was there were almost exclusively fighting games being played (SC IV, SFIV, BlazBlue, KOF XII, and Brawl) except for some Batman Arkham Asylum, Wii Sports Resort, Madden 10, and Fight Night R4. Next week is for the FPS gamers, as we will try to focus on FPS and LAN gaming, mainly on the 360. We did some LAN gaming during the summer and were able to get up to about 8 or 9 screens running 360s. We pretty much have the equipment for the LAN covered so if anyone can bring their 360 or TV or let us know. The more the better. I know already several of the regulars have their copies of Halo 3, COD 4 or 5, Rainbow Six Vegas, Left 4 Dead, etc. Whatever multiplayer games you have and can bring let me know because others might have it and we could play them such as Orange Box, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Battlefield from Xbox Live or whatever. As a secondary genre, if anyone has any sports or racing games that'll work. We should have a few screens available for them. I intend to have Forza 2, Grid, UFC Undisputed, and Madden 10 and someone might be bringing his racing wheel.

We're trying something different but if you have any other ideas for game night holla at me about it and we might be able to implement them. Again, if you can bring your 360, games, or a screen, let us know. And me and friend are considering doing a big annual fighting game tournament sometime in Spring that would include all of the fighting games from the past year or so that have been released, even DoA, MK vs. DC, whatever, so let us know if you have interest in that because if we do it, we want to do it big and do it right.
