What we’re about

Do you know what you need to do, but just don't do it? This is a group for folks that need a little more accountability and structure than your "typical" conventional, regular, ordinary, boring person. We seek to "light a candle rather than curse the darkness" with the challenges we face with focus, attention, organizing, productivity and meeting deadlines. Many of us are ADD or ADHD, although you do not have to be either in order to join us. We embrace our differences with humor rather than discouragement or self abasement.

.BOOK CLUB - This started out as a book club with "accommodations" . Unlike most book clubs that read the entire book and then meet to discuss it, we read ONE chapter a week, and meet weekly to discuss that one chapter . This is done for 2 reason. First, most of us are not able to set aside the time to read an entire book. Secondly, we seek to apply it to our lives and put it into action by digesting it in small bite sized discussions.

VIRTUAL EXERCISE - I will do a screen share on Zoom and download an exercise video (Yoga, Pilates, weight training, Cardio, cardio-step, etc.) that we can do together. Evidence shows you are more likely to follow through on your exercise plans if you make an appointment or set aside an exact time to do it (like our Meetup group).

FOCUS-MATE/GET IT DONE ACCOUNTIBILITY SESSIONS - again, meeting virtually via Zoom, but you do your task you may have been putting off and I do mine. You can leave video on or off for this, but we meet at the end of the session to "book end" your project.

I hope to plan some in-person exercise get togethers for the same reason: if you have to meet someone for a long walk, hike, bike ride, etc. you are more likely to follow through.
