No Games Presidents Day.
Thank you for your interest in our group. Here are a few notes about what we do here on Monday nights. Cost: $10 1) Level of Play: BB Level or higher What is BB? Here is the description: PLEASE READ B: First and foremost: Players pass and set to a target at a rate of over 90%. Play is skilled. Almost exclusively play within a 6-2 / 5-1 scheme. Each player can pass, set, and attack. They serve with power and accuracy (but not yet for aces). Most attacks are hit downward with power – landing generally in the back third of the court. Periodically, roll shots and dinks are also seen. Single blocks are attempted on almost every attack, and occasionally double blocks are executed successfully. Everybody here knows the game well, sees the whole court in order to execute plays. People are told they are BB a lot but if you can't pass to the setter, if you can't serve in consistently, or if you are set and more than half the time you hit the ball into the net or the back wall, you are probably a C+ player. We will ask lower level players to return when they increase their skill level. Please don't be offended by this. This is for safety and to keep the skill level consistent. We play hard and, most important, we have fun! If you haven't played in awhile, feel free to join us. We will get you back into it. 2) Prebooking: Players with a proven BB level of play will get first dibs at pre-booking - exception will be repeat offenders for no-shows or cancellations. 3) NO-SHOW: Please don't! A no-show is any reservation canceled on Monday that is not filled by someone. So, if you leave us hanging, you are on the hook. If you can't make it, please email me in the Meet-up message center. 4) WAIT-LIST: WAIT-LIST WAIT-LIST This used to be the best feature of but with their new software update it is now the worst! If you are on the waitlist, be aware that we don't use the automatic feature because it causes no-shows. If someone cancels more than the day of the event, I will email for a BB/A replacement to the people on the waitlist. The first person to email me back gets the spot. It is more work for me but it guarantees me the person wants to play and will make it. If someone posts a comment they can't make it, I will email the group too. If you reply to the comment, it doesn't guarantee the spot is yours. Once we max out, the reservation limit will be lowered. This is the only way to turn off the auto-waitlist. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS!! The day of the event, the people on the waitlist will be switched to "not-going". WHY? Here is why: After everyone is switched I increase the maximum back to 24 which then turns on the Auto-waitlist. Everyone can now rejoin the waitlist group. Now, if someone cancels the day off and if you are on the waitlist you know you can play that night -right?! * USE THIS ADDRESS TO MAP IT: 617 W Evergreen Ave, Chicago, IL Enter from Clybourn - see photo. What we're about

Public Group

~This is not a rec volleyball group~

This group was created for CC, B, and BB players who want to:

- improve their skills

- work on their technique,

- and spend as much time as possible at the beach!

Beginner/Recreational level players are discouraged from joining this particular group. If you are unsure of your skill level send me an email or come to one of the training/skills meetups to find out where you stand.

The CC level is similar to Chicago Sport and Social Club's intermediate level. Players are expected to know all the rules. Passing, setting, serving, and attacking are decent to strong with an accuracy of 70% and higher.

This is a friendly group of active and diverse volleyball players! It's a great place to meet people to form league teams or tournament teams. Some members are involved with lots of volleyball events that never get posted on the site, so come to meetups and get to know the other volleyball players.

If you know of any gyms or sand courts that are open for pick-up games, rentals, or walk-ons, let us know and we'll try to schedule something there!
