Re: [OpenKinect] Upcoming meetups: want to present for 5 minutes? Kinect Accelerator, Volumetric journal

My name is Greg Hallman. I am a doctoral student at Teachers College,
Columbia University. I met Sean and Jonathan at the second meetup.

My colleague, Seokmin Kang, and I have been working on the Kinect
since Feb of this year. We are trying to create educational games and
simulations that involve the Kinect. We have hit a programming
barrier. Would like to create games/simulations in Unity but don't
know how to program in Unity. We've been pinned down to just keystroke
presses and mouse movement (single cursor) in Flash, with AS3 server
middleware or the FAAST middleware out of San Diego. I like Unity much
better because it doesn't require the "muscle man" pose. You can sync
yourself by just waving...as with most commercial over-the-counter
Kinect games.

Lately I've learned to love the phrase "slow progress is better than
no progress"

If anyone has Unity/Kinect resources to share we would appreciate it.

Thanks

- Greg
