PRATT HOSTS THE DIGITAL ARTS TERMINAL (PHATT-B), BROOKLYN

Pratt ’s Department of Digital Arts (DDA) will host a one-day festival celebrating the Brooklyn digital arts community Saturday September 21st. The festival, “PHATT-B (Pratt Hosts Art & Technology Terminal) – A Celebration of Digital Arts in Brooklyn,” will include a series of panel discussions with artists, curators, and writers working in new media and digital arts; workshops on art and technology; and an exhibition of work from eight Brooklyn digital art galleries. All programming is underscored with the idea that technology is used as a fine arts medium for personal expression. Art F City is the event's exclusive media partner. Sign up now and reserve your space at a workshop or panel discussion.

Eva and Franco Mattes (a.k.a. 0100101110101101.ORG), two pioneers in the net.art movement, will deliver a keynote address on their unpredictable and controversial digital art works. Participating galleries include[masked], Cartune Xprez, Devotion Gallery, Interstate Projects, Present Company, Momenta Art, Transfer Gallery, and Nurture Art. Panels and workshops will be lead by Pratt faculty including Lara Kohl, Meredith Drum, Nicholas O’Brien, Carla Gannis, Bryan Zanisnik, Katie Torn, Peter Patchen and Liubo Borrisov.

Art F City will host an after party for the event at The Emerson from 8 onwards. Slava will DJ. "Clusterfuck Zoo", a collection of animated GIFs curated by Lorna Mills will be screened. Additionally, a mini exhibition curated by Marianna Ellenberg will debut video works by  Cartun Exprez and Pratt DDA MFA Alumni William Rahilly.
