Hi Everyone,

Please check the website for all the details for the upcoming events. ELECTIONS: New SV Officers are needed for 2010: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please contact Debbie if you are interested in one of these positions. I can tell you personally that you will have an awesome experience by being involved in the management of the group. You will be working with an easy going group - you will have an opportunity to meet more friends, and honestly you will enjoy being involved with the group at a decision making level. Please give this some consideration - Thanks, Debbie

OCTOBER MEETING - October 24 - Monthly Meeting and Halloween Social , St. Joseph Church, 12700 Pearl Rd, Strongsville. We WILL be meeting in Mary House meeting room (in front of the church) - Let's have a party!!! It's our annual Halloween Get-Together. Wear a costume (or not) - it doesn't have to be fancy - just have fun! Do you have a funny hattongue , a scary mask angry- bring it along? Or - Check out the thrift shops for that perfect Trick Or Treat outfit. A special Ice Breaker is planned; you are sure to meet new friends. Come to discuss new projects and make new friends. Open to everyone, even if you're just curious about our Single Volunteer's group. Bring a small 'dessert' or 'hors d'oeuvre' snack to share ? Pizza, beverages and good company provided by Single Volunteers. MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY, the largest national day of helping others - The 19th "Make A Difference Day" is Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009.

VOLUNTEER: Fair Trade Boutique at St. Joseph's Church - Sunday, Oct. 25 1:30 - HELP US TO REPAY ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH FOR THE USE OF MARY HOUSE!! 6-8 volunteers needed to help clean up after the Fair Trade Boutique at St. Joseph's Church in Strongsville. Meet inside the church at 1:30. VOLUNTEER: Sunday - October 25 - Various Shifts - "Help To Others" is sponsoring the Pumpkin Palooza at Lakewood High School. This fund raising event benefits the Lakewood Christian Service Center and Lakewood Charitable Assistance Corp (both help with food assistance for the needy). VOLUNTEER: Nov 13 - RSVP Needed for event. - EARTH DAY' COALITION'S 12TH ANNUAL FALL BENEFIT, Westshore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd, Rocky River. VOLUNTEER: Tuesday - October 27 - 6:00PM to 8:00PM St Augustine Health Campus Bingo, West 78th & Detroit Avenue, Cleveland - Assist residents to/from the bingo room and help them play bingo. Michael[masked] or [address removed]

HOLIDAY EVENT: DONATIONS FOR THE TROOPS: We have located a volunteer group that specializes in collecting, organizing and shipping of items that are needed by our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are asking all Single Volunteers to help us support this worthwhile project. Please bring your donations to the October and November monthly meetings. POC is Jo Ann at[masked]-7913. Here are the items we are collecting. Bring any donated items to any volunteer event, any social event, and every meeting between now and December 1st. Here are the items we are collecting:
