Beaches Ice Festival

Let's have some typical Canadian winter fun.  We will attend this festival featuring a figure skating show, ice sculptures, lumberjack show and music.  We will walk along Queen street visiting the events then take the vintage streetcar back to near the starting point.

Check it out at www.thebeachvillage.com

If taking the TTC either take the Queen car east to Woodbine or go to Woodbine station and take the bus south to the beach. The firestation is right at the corner of Queen / Woodbine.

Hi all! I'm the one who had the Marlene Dietrich bag. I had a good time chatting with many of you and was really just looking forward to getting out of the house, doing some walking and meeting some nice people, so all of my boxes were checked on this outing. Felice, you were like a professional guide! Thanks for planning this!

Thanks so much for the nice comments, it's too bad it was so cold or we would have enjoyed it more

Others I spoke to in the group seemed glad just to get out of their houses for a bit (even though it was cold). I'm looking forward to the next meet-up!

Does anyone know if there's free parking?

    February 16, 2014

    • Felice

Yes there is free street parking, park on the residential street next to the firehall where we meet.

Okay, so I am new in Toronto as well. I am going to the Unitarian Congregation to meet people and join their community. It is on St.Clair. So is there a short cut to get to the Beaches by transit from there? I would really love to join you ...

The quickest way to get to the meetup location for Sunday is to go to Woodbine subway and take bus 92 and get off at Queen Street.

Not this time.... It is still a little too cold for me to spend much time in the open. I think I will go for some groovy Jazz somewhere indoors instead!
To all the lovers of the cold winter weather: Enjoy and have tons of fun!!! Brigitte
