The Vancouver Walking Meetup Group Message Board › Turning off the "nice to see you" feature

Turning off the "nice to see you" feature

Laura B.
Group Organizer
Vancouver, BC
Hi everyone

Some people have expressed a wish to get rid of the "nice to see you" thing that is sent to everyone after a meetup, and apparently this comes from the highest level of meetup - Scott Heiferman, the founder really likes this kind of "poke", so it's not likely to go away any time soon.  On the other hand, if you do not wish to receive the messages when someone clicks on "nice to see you" for your name, you can turn it off in notifications.  Here's how:

  • When you're logged on, go to Account at the top of the page.
  • Choose Email and notifications from the drop-down menu.
  • Scroll down to the particular meetup group you want to change this for, and choose Email and notification settings.
  • Under Meetups, uncheck the last box (post event greetings for Meetups I've attended).  I suppose if enough people (all over the world) do this, Scott will take the feature off the site.
