Saha'tapa Loop Trail
31313 Live Oak Canyon Road
Redlands, CA 92373
Description:
On Saturday, April 20, the hike will start an hour earlier, at 9am, as this event will be one of the Climate Day of Action’s projects. Guests will hike the Saha’tapa Loop Trail, leaving Gateway Ranch going south to the high mesa. While the Loop Trail has been on the Trails at 10 agenda previously, it will be in amazingly beautiful green “dress” this year. It should also be a good year for wildflower blooms.
While on the hike, guests will learn about the Santa Ana Watershed which will be mostly visible from the mesa. The purpose of the hike/project will be to learn about the value of the water that comes through this watershed and how we rely on it. The impact of residential, commercial and industrial development on the watershed will be addressed.
Following the hike, guests will be encouraged to go downtown to the main Earth Day event at Redlands Bowl and enjoy lunch there.
