Hike along the Mississippi River

RSVP YES only. ('NO' RSVPs are not required and flood my inbox with unnecessary messages.) Thanks

Meeting location has been changed to the Longfellow Grill. We'll meet inside the restaurant to stay out of the cold wind until everyone arrives. Come early and enjoy lunch before the walk, and/or stay afterward for Happy Hour.

Keep my number with you that day, just in case... [masked] Call or text me if your plans change at the last minute and you can't make it. I can only check the RSVPs up until 12 noon, so it would be nice to know we don't need to wait for you.

In winter, we might have to walk the sidewalks along the parkway to avoid icy sections of the trail, but only if the trail is slippery and hazardous. Otherwise be prepared to hike through snow.

    Caw, caw,
We heard from the murder of crows.

    Honk, honk,
    From the gaggle of geese.

    Quack, quack, quack, quack,
From the paddle of ducks, navigating around the gentle ice floes, down along the sandy beaches of the Mighty Mississippi today.

On the way back on the upper side, swoosh and a bright flash of red. A sure sign of spring as the cardinal swooped right under our noses.

so while there is some contention about what a group of turkeys is REALLY called, there seems to be a force on the internet in favor of a "rafter of turkeys"! I love it! the weirder the better!
