Feel like a walk after work with your furry friend but don't want to do it on your own? Need to get off the couch and stretch the legs after a long day at the office? Don't even have a dog but would enjoy a wander with some company? Well fret no longer, help is at hand.
Jack the Labrador and I will be taking a relaxed midweek stroll along the Hutt Riverbank from Melling Bridge each Wednesday and Thursday from 7pm, feel free to come and join in! This walk is about 4km return or about an hour there and back. You can take it as fast or slow as you wish, and it's a good spot for a run around in the park.
As this is a council designated dog exercise area, your dog doesn't need to be on the lead but does need to be under control, and you are required to carry a leash. It's going to be dark, so a dog light (such as those at http://www.flashdog.co.nz/) may be a good idea to keep track of anyone off leash, as well as a good torch.
NOTE: If you haven't been on a walk with the group before, one of the many day walks might be a good idea first so the dogs can get used to each other and not get defensive.
There is parking at both ends, however the Melling end is better lit for those dark winter evenings! Text me (Andrew) on 027-4531092 if you get lost! :)
