Now open for RSVPs. The only cost is $3 cash per adult. Kids free. This walk goes to what is popularly known as the best view spot in SF. Twin Peaks is up over 900 feet high and gives views in every direction. The only bad thing up there is that the winds sometimes are very strong. We will also experience other good things on the walk such as the Harry Street Steps. We end the walk an optional dinner at the Pakistan/Indian restaurant "Aslam's Rasoi." This restaurant is praised by customers AND the SF Health Department.

See legal disclaimer statement below:

When sending a "Yes" RSVP please put in the comments area at the bottom "Yes Dinner" or "No Dinner." We meet at 1:00 PM in front of the Glen Park Library which is less than one block from the Glen Park BART Station. The only cost is $3 per adult and I do not collect money at the starting point.

At 1:15 PM we will start walking through Glen Park and then up one of the best stairways in SF, the Harry Street Steps. Then we walk to the Diamond Heights Center for a restroom stop. Then to the top of Twin Peaks. At an elevation of 922' it is widely believed to have SF's best views. Unfortunately, we won't have much time for the views because of a lack of restrooms on/near Twin Peaks.

Then we walk to Noe Valley and Castro Heights. We will see the street where part of the 1948 classic movie "I Remember Mama" was filmed. We will have good restroom stops and many stairways on our route to our endpoint: the Indian restaurant on Valencia Street near 21st Street called "Aslam's Rasoi." We plan to reach the restaurant at 5:30 PM, 30 minutes after it opens. Attendees not attending the dinner may walk to the nearby 24th Street BART Station.

This restaurant is great for a large group. There are other fine restaurants nearby, but they are bad for large groups: small, crowded and noisy. We divide our long dinner tables into sections of about 6 people to make figuring the bill easier. This dinner is only for people who are doing our walk as we may fill up the restaurant.
