Preventative Trail Maintenance East of the Beaver River
Details
There's a stretch of NCT between Fletcher Hill Rd. and Snake Run Rd. east that is particularly challenging to maintain during the summer months because of all of the multi floral rose, vines, tree branches, logs, and stumps along each side of the pathway. The last time I rolled through there with a mower it was like the school bully punched me in the stomach and took my lunch money.
On Monday, November 25th we're heading out there with saws and loppers to knock that bully down to size, pushing everything back away from the pathway. This is the time of the year to get after these kind of projects, making for a smoother maintaining run next growing season.
We'll meet at the Wampum Depot Train Station - 303 Main St. - at 9:00 AM and head to the work site from there, planning to spend a couple of hours working on this project.
The property we're heading to does not permit hunting, but not everyone gets the word, so blaze orange is the dress code of the day.
Hope to see you in Wampum on Monday morning.
