What we're about

What is on your Bucket List? This is a group for anyone who loves to travel and be active outdoors. I am a photographer, hiker, nature lover, and outdoor enthusiast who decided to take others on affordable group travel to both domestic and international locations. I also run a local photography group Virginia Beach Photo Fanatics.

This group is not just about traveling and living life one trip at a time, it is about networking and connecting with others. Not only will there be opportunities for trips but I will host social events, free hiking weekends, and more just to connect the community.

This meetup is not a traditional one. There will not be monthly meetups. There will be social gatherings done at different times, hiking weekends set up whenever possible, and trips that we are going on. There will be educational meetups regarding travel and adventure at different times throughout the year.

My main focus with Wanderlusts Explorations is to connect the people to the experience wherever you may be. I want to help everyone live their best life one journey at a time.

This group will be ran by myself: Jeanne at Wanderlust Explorations (http://www.wanderlust-explorations.com) Also join the Facebook Group Wanderlust Explorations (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2242434265814745/).

Another organizer that will be setting up a different style of trips is Talor from Redheaded Nomad (http://www.redheadednomad.com).

Every day will include hands-on instruction in the field to teach you everything you need to know to capture amazing images. I will also be there every day to provide assistance. The Lofotens are unlike any other place on earth. The wintery arctic light paints dream-like scenes in every direction, and the snowy landscape is accented by exciting pops of color at every turn from the turquoise blue fjords to the charming red fishing houses. When the night sky is clear, Lofoten comes to life with vibrant shows of the Northern Lights. At the end of this workshop, you will depart with an impressive portfolio, new advanced shooting and processing techniques, and epic memories to last a lifetime! Utah Backcountry Adventure

Utah

This is definitely the coolest camping trip you will ever go on! For the full details and to register go to: https://redheadednomad.com/workshops/utah-backcountry-adventure/ Dates: 6 days (April 15-21). Price: $1050 ($100 deposit and then monthly installments) Includes: Ground transportation, accommodation, fuel, several meals Does Not Include: Airfare, equipment (you must bring your own tent and sleeping bag) To see videos about the trip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jg2THqzR8k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYJDyG3C6Sw Utah is famous for its incredible and surreal landscapes, but there is a side to this wild land that fewer than 1% of visitors will ever see! The only way to truly get the full Utah experience is to leave the pavement and travel deep into remote areas that you won’t believe are actually real! This trip will take you on an epic 4x4 adventure on two of the most iconic off-road trails in the American Southwest: The White Rim Trail and The Cathedral Valley Trail. These are my two favorite experiences in the American Southwest because they take you so far from the beaten path to a world most people will never see. This is an off-roading and camping adventure experience. We will be sleeping in tents and cooking our own food for four consecutive nights, so be prepared to exchange the comforts of a hotel for the authentic experience of a lifetime. We will be traveling in 4-door lifted jeeps in small groups so everyone has a window seat and plenty of room! There will be multiple short hiking opportunities to some of the most epic panoramic viewpoints you have ever seen. My personal focus has always been on making travel affordable and attainable for others and this adventure is no different. I have worked extremely hard to get great rates on our vehicles and keep this as affordable as possible. Marking that you are "Attending" on Meetup will NOT reserve your seat!
