COLOMBIA - Travel like a local with a local!
• What we'll do What a fantastic get-together of awesome travelers for the 2018 trip planning meeting last night at MadTree! We had about 45-50 people filled with wanderlust! Great time! For those of you who weren't able to attend, sorry we missed you but no worries - you didn't have to be at the last meeting to still come on the trip! From last night's meeting it definitely looks like a bunch of you are interested in going to Colombia in August or September. So let's go ahead and get our Colombia plans finalized!!!! I'd like to hold another meeting with those of you who are SERIOUS about going to Colombia, and we can decide on exact dates for the trip and such things. I'll hold the meeting at my house in Newport so we can relax and chat and have internet. Meeting should take just an hour. This is ONLY for people who are SERIOUS about going on the trip. The meeting will take place before January 27, 2018 and I will send out a few meeting time/date options once you let me know you want to go. If you are SERIOUS about wanting to go to, please send me an email at: or give me a call/text at 513-800-7524. Unfortunately we get a lot of spam RSVPs on MeetUp, so I can't rely on MeetUp's RSVP list.....I have to know who is actually serious about the trip and who is not. The trip will be limited to 10 people (small groups make for much better travel experiences) so you'll be put on the "going" list based on the order in which you let me know. Here are some highlight details about the Colombia trip: COLOMBIA – Travel like a local with a local • Length: 11 days • Potential dates: August or September • Cost: Approx $2,500 (probably lower, but that depends on dates and number in our group) • Summary: Colombia is a booming tourist destination and we’ll be going for 11 days on this trip that will take us to the highlands and lowlands of Colombia. We’ll see more of the real Colombia than you ever would one your own. • Highlights: Bogota, Kogi Indian Villages, Paloquemao market, Mt. Monserrate, La Candelaria, Villa de Leyva, Ecce Homo, Medellin, Plaze de Botero, Santa Marta, Minca, Sierra Nevada mountains, La Victoria coffee plantation, Natural Reserve of Taironaka, Kogi Indian village, Tayrona National Park, Cartegena, Taironaka, Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar Foundation • What’s Included: Small group size, Pre-trip group get-togethers, accommodations, ground transportation, flights from Bogota to Medellin and from Medellin to Santa Marta, Entrance fees to Tayrona National Park, fully guided by Colombian Tony Varela (also fluent in English) • What to bring • Important to know
