Astronomy Day at Cranbrook: Daytime Solar Observing and More!

Cranbrook Institute of Science and the Warren Astronomical Society are putting on our yearly Astronomy Day event. W.A.S. members will be walking through Astronomy Society of the Pacific demonstration kits with visitors. Cranbrook astronomers will be giving planetarium shows and observatory tours. Kids will be able to make their own sundials and planispheres. Videos and talks will allow visitors of all ages to learn about the our universe.

The public event runs from 1PM to 4PM. W.A.S. members can set up early.

WAS members with solar telescopes will be on hand to safely show the Sun in normal telescopes with white light solar filters and in special hydrogen alpha-filtered telescopes.

Cranbrook does charge an admission fee, as well as a fee for planetarium shows. Learn more here.
