How long have you been paddling? Under what conditions? We do NOT paddle whitewater (rapids), but we paddle everything from totally flat water to 3-foot waves.

I have been paddling for about five years, mostly seakayaking off the coast of Deere Isle, ME in the Penobscot Bay. I have experienced variable tides, strong headwinds, one-foot waves and fog. Most of the times I have paddled under ideal conditions and have enjoyed paddling with a friend who lives on the island. Most of the time, I have paddled alone but have always had a map and deck compass.

If you own a kayak, what type and how long? (say "N/A" if you don't own) If you paddle a stand-up paddleboard, whitewater kayak or inflatable kayak, this is NOT the club for you.

I purchased my Lincoln Schoodic seakayak in Freeport, ME. It is a 16-17 foot kayak with a high-visibility orange deck, the best to be seen by lobstermen or recreational boaters.

Am an outdoors enthusiast, Sierra Club member, and I enjoy hiking, backpacking, travelling and playing tennis. Professionally, I am a Spanish teacher in a public high school who finds the work to be rewarding and energizing.
