Web Applications: PHP (4-class series)

  • This location is shown only to members

Now we're getting to the nuts and bolts of web sites: server side coding! Maybe you've built some static pages up to this point, but what if you want to have users log in to store information about them? You're going to need a way to communicate with your server and a database to store that information. That's where PHP comes in. PHP is one of the most common web programming languages and we'll use it to learn how to build robust, dynamic, content-filled sites that help you get, store, and manage the data you need to keep your users happy and coming back for more.

Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm

Doors open at 6:00pm; if you arrive before 6:00pm, please wait in the 1st floor lobby, as no one will be available to let you in upstairs. We encourage you to arrive by 6:15pm to get a good seat and get set up. Class will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

Class 1 - April 24

Class 2 - May 1

Class 3 - May 8

Class 4 - May 15

Have a conflict with one of the dates? No problem! We record our classes so you can catch up on the material you missed. In addition to the videos, all the notes for the course will be available online for you to use during and after the class.

Hey guys--any idea when the next run of this class will be? I would have to miss two of four in this series so I think I'd rather wait.

We usually only get to PHP twice a year, so probably sometime in October?

I would love to take the October class.

The material was easy to understand and was presented in a way that didn't make me feel like I was in over my head at all. I didn't have any anxiety and went with the flow of the class pretty well. I'm looking forward to the next class and building off of what we learned in the first session! Also, recording the classes and having them be available online is awesome seeing how I'll unfortunately have to miss the third session
