Position (Permanent position in Boston)
Our client seeks a web development star who is ready to jump into an e-commerce platform and help drive sales, support marketing and improve our customers' user experience. In this role, you will bring static designs to life on the Web; develop and code front-end improvements to the Company's e-commerce site; and support the database systems development team in helping scope and design improvements to the e-commerce platform - including building new functionality within the company's custom CMS. You will primarily support the front-end needs of the Marketing and Sales departments, while integrating as needed with the back-end development team. While this position is not a strictly Web design role, you will be bring a critical aesthetic eye to the Web development team's work, and be able to independently leverage existing design and branding elements when building new interactive pieces for the Company and its partners in the entertainment, sports and corporate arenas. We are seeking a self-starter who enjoys working independently to drive projects with cross functional groups, and who likes to take ownership of their work and projects.
In addition to the duties described above, the Web Developer/Designer will undertake and oversee the following individual and team duties (candidates' experience should directly relate to these responsibilities):

· CMS system definition, selection, implementation
· Migration from current proprietary CMS to new, full CMS system
· SEO design, implementation, tracking
· HTML e-mail coding
· Building custom landing pages/microsites for various promotions
· Managing ongoing updates to site on both static HTML pages and e-commerce pages created through custom CMS
· Troubleshooting site issues as needed on CMS pages created by sales operations team
· Manipulating original artwork (psd's) to create visual assets for use on e-commerce sale pages
· Working with development team to define back-end improvements needed to support the needs of various web pages, promotions, etc.
· Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to contribute Web-based ideas on how to maximize visibility and drive sales
In addition to skills necessary for the responsibilities above, successful candidates will demonstrate deep experience with the responsibilities detailed above, and will demonstrate significant and concrete strengths in the following essential areas:


· Expertise in CMS - commercial tools (like Drupal or others), links to proprietary systems, management and maintenance
· Expertise in current Web design technologies, languages and trends, including (experience with some of the following is ideal): HTML/XHTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, AJAX, PHP, MySQL, AS3 on latest browsers
· Experience working in an e-commerce environment and interfacing with back-end database structures
· Thorough familiarity with Web Analytics (e.g. Google Analytics)
· Experience implementing and tracking SEO
· Proficiency in Adobe CS5 (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver and Illustrator); video editing (i.e. iMovie)
· Experience with version control systems (i.e. SVN)
· Experience with API's
· Experience with design for emerging and new media, i.e. mobile applications a plus
· Experience with creating and optimizing sites for mobile browsers


· Web development experience, preferably in an enterprise, e-commerce and/or creative environment
· Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and clearly document processes and procedures
· Strong analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to self-motivate, be flexible, multitask and problem-solve
· A willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment
· A knowledge of the sports and music industries and a passion for social change and the missions of our organization is a plus
