Position: Front-End Web Developer (HTML/CSS/Javascript)
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Duration: Full-time Permanent

Our client is a leading marketing solutions provider that helps local businesses and their customers connect wherever and whenever they choose to search. The company provides integrated products and services to help businesses establish their digital presence and generate leads, building on its heritage of print-based solutions. Company's locally based marketing experts offer a broad network of local marketing solutions including online, mobile and print search solutions.

Based out of our Santa Monica office, we are looking for a Front End Software Engineer with the following Skills:

• Three or more years' experience developing interactive user interfaces using (x)HTML(5), CSS and object oriented JavaScript within multitiered systems.
• Experience writing semantic code with emphasis on optimized performance and scalability.
• Experience with web services and JSON.
• Experience developing in a Java/J2EE environment using JSP, tag libraries, and an MVC framework is a plus.
• Experience working on enterprise level web properties as a member of a team in an Agile environment.
• Coding client-side interactive functionality using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience using JQuery and JQuery Mobile as well as integrating, maintaining, and extending plugins.
• Previous experience with product development life-cycle of several successfully launched web and/or software applications is required.
• Knowledge and use of Firebug and YSlow or other web developer tools available to analyze web pages is very helpful.
• Experience with Version Control Systems, such as Subversion, Microsoft Vision Sourcesafe, and CVS is highly preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities utilizing your expertise mentioned above:

• Work closely with an Agile team of Product Managers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Designers, and fellow Software Developers to build consumer and internal websites.
• Develop reusable JavaScript and server-side components that are modular and maintainable.
• Implement techniques to improve perceived and actual page load time.
• Code with and participate in selection of technologies such as jQuery, jQuery Mobile, Modernizr, Backbone, JsUnit, etc. that will support site development and enhance user experience.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously and make appropriate technical decisions based on experience and context.
• Incorporate progressive enhancement & feature support for cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate with team members to explore new technological developments and establish coding standards for use across teams.
