I have been checking the woods for the plants that show up in spring only, before the leaves come out on the trees. These plants take advantage of the sunlight that hits the forest floor before the tree canopy leafs out. They are here now! Many of these are edible, however many are too rare to eat. Others require specific procedures to make them safe to eat.
This is not an introductory class, but anyone could come and enjoy it! Bring good walking shoes, though we will walk only about 1/2 mile, the terrain is irregular and with some winter softened ground with damp vegetation. Bring a camera and notebook. Hopefully there will be some nice flowers. These things come and go you know!
We will finish between 3 and 3:30. Fee is $10/person age 15 up.
Be prepared to dress more warmly to be here than "in town". It tends to be a bit cooler here because of no pavement and the shadowing hills.
