106 Entrada Drive, Santa Monica, CA, Los Angeles, CA
ATTENDANCE: Average 30-50 players throughout the day on weekends.
(You may not see a lot of RSVPs due to regulars not RSVPing every week but there are always people there. We do ask people to please RSVP for this reason.)
FORMAT: Open Play, All Levels, 2s / 3s / 4s
TIME: Flexible. Come when you want. Mornings tend to have more beginners (due to classes) and afternoons tend to have more intermediates. Mornings tend to be occasionally overcast and cooler, making it one of my favorite times to play.
WEATHER: We generally play year-round and only stop for high winds (15+ mph) and heavy rain. Hottest hours tend to be 12PM-2PM.
HOST: Organizers will have some lines and balls when available. Occasionally we cannot make it, so it's helpful to bring extra lines or volleyballs.
EQUIPMENT: Courts have nets and are first-come, first-serve. Lines and volleyballs are what we ask people to bring.
(We ask people NOT to play jungle ball which is to one hit. This is a team sport.)
WHAT SHOULD I BRING: Water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, sand socks (for playing on hot sand), beach umbrella (optional), beach blanket, etc.
PARKING: Beach parking is about $15 (summer) / $9 (non-summer) after 9AM. Cheaper before 9AM. Free residential parking is available. See map for more details.
ALTERNATE LOCATION: We relocate when tournaments such as CBVA take our usual spot. From our usual spot, turn toward Malibu and take a 5 minute walk to the next group of courts. See map for more details.
