What we're about

This group is for fun, vaccinated ladies that are 35-45 yrs young who love to read, eat, and drink wine :) There are a few book clubs in Westchester to choose from, this one is for vaccinated individuals only. In today’s climate where there are many opinions about this, I am making my stance clear to protect myself and my members. If you don’t believe in getting vaccinated and have not been vaccinated (for whatever reason), this isn’t the group for you.

Back in Southern California, I belonged to a Meetup group that was set up just like this one. It was so much fun and I met some great people through it, so I wanted to start one here in Westchester County.

Each month, we read a book and meet to discuss it (and other things :). Initially let's meet in a restaurant/cafe where we can enjoy food & drinks. Eventually, we could shift from meeting at a restaurant/cafe to a member's home if we have enough interest to take it that direction. In that scenario we could do a potluck (no, doesn't have to be homemade, can be store-bought :) where each member brings either a food item or a bottle of wine to share with the group.

If you'd like to host a meeting at your place, don't be shy and let me know! The hostess gets to pick the book we read. I’m sure everyone has a favorite book or two... or twenty!

Also, if you'd like to plan another type of event (eg, a movie trip to see the film of a book we've read, an author event, or even just happy hour or weekend brunch), message me and we'll get it posted!

There is an annual membership fee of $12. Meetup charges me fees to keep the group on their site, so this is to help offset the cost and your contribution as a member. I hope you enjoy and take advantage of your free 90-day trial and decide to stay! Unpaid members at the end of 90 days will be automatically removed from the group by Meetup.

If there is no activity or participation from a member in over 6 months, you may be removed from the group. Members who have not been active or participated in over a year will be removed. The reason for this is because I don't add people just for the sake of adding them. When trying to build friendships and rapport with other members, it's quality over quantity.

There are efforts and time put into organizing each Meetup. If you habitually (ie, twice or more) no-show or drop out less than 72 hours prior to an event, I will be forced to remove you from the group. It doesn't give others on the waitlist enough time to read the book and be able to come. On punctuality: we all run behind every once in a while. Life happens, I get it. But if you’re consistently over 15 minutes late to events, please think twice before taking up a spot at the table over someone who could have been on time. Some restaurants don’t seat us until the entire party in the reservation has arrived. Being late also holds up ordering of meals and the start of our book discussion. Habitual latecomers will be placed on waitlist. Thanks for your cooperation, ladies!
