Hwy 9 to and thru Wilder Ranch-C pace

An adventure ride where we decide which way to go while seeking out singletrack and taking fireroad to get there... Expect this ride to be an up to 20-miler taking approximately 4 hours with breaks.

If the dirt lot is full park along-side the road on the same side of the lot just before or after it. If you're familiar with the Rincon pullout on HWY 9 in Santa Cruz- that is our meeting spot.

From San Jose: Take Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz. Go straight toward Santa Cruz and stay to the right. Turn right on River Street-turns into Hwy 9. Go 2.4 miles up and you will see the large parking area on the right.

As always a helmet is required for all SJMTB rides and extra protective gear is recommended if you are tentative about riding down rocky trails. Extra water, a snack, and your basic trail side tools (multi-tool, tube, pump) should be sufficient for this longer ride.

Thanks for the memories ;) I think I'm starting to understand the ride pace rating better. C = crushing, B = Brutal, A = ass kicking.
    Seriously, great ride.

    Hi,
Is the location link above correct? I'm not seeing a trail head for bikes anywhere near this location--at least not according to Google. Thanks much and I look forward to the ride.

I'm a little confused. I don't see written directions on this ride description. The street view of the marker shows no real parking spots. So I'm not sure where to go once I get onto highway 9. Is the parking way before the google marker or after?

Aww thanks for updating it late last night. As you can tell, I have extreme paranoia when it comes to directions.

Will tires pretty much roll at 10? Wifey is getting on my case about how late I'll be back and she might nix my ride again.

Crossing my fingers that I hope I get in on this one. I have my 29er dialed in.
