Hanging out in my backyard this week. About 20 miles. A little under 4000 ft of climbing. Going at a moderate pace since my fitness has taken a huge hit as of late. Start in Alum Rock, up Boccardo, through Sierra Vista, see if we have to exorcise some ghosts at that haunted farm, grind it up Calaveras Fault trail all the way to Vista point for a breath taking view very few people ever get to see. Nothing really technical to worry about here.
This is a very secluded trail. It's very rare to see anybody out here once we enter Sierra Vista. So definitely bring tools, extra tubes, chain links and plenty of fuel and water.
A helmet and a properly functioning mountain bike is always required for our rides.
Parking is $6 within the park, but I usually just park in the residential neighborhood outside of the entrance and bike in.
