Quick weekend wrap up... Santa Teresa

  • This location is shown only to members

  • I'm a pretty busy guy these day's but I still need to get out and ride.  This Sunday however, I'm going to steal away for a couple of hours and ride my favorite local spot.  If we get any rain they'll likely have closed STP to bikes so the ride will move to somewhere a bit more appropriate.  It doesn't look like that's going to be an issue though.

My STP rides usually start from the Harry road side of things and run up and back to the top of Rocky Ridge.  This isn't going to be a beginner friendly ride as I won't have a lot of time and will have to keep moving to get home in a reasonable amount of time.  That being said I'm slow these days.  Taking nearly a month off has really affected my speed and endurance.  I'll probably add some extra miles onto this ride if my time is going good and we're all up for it.  Adding on the northern side's climbs is something I always say I'm going to do more often but often run out of time.  I think I'll push for it this time though.

Expect our ride to last about 2.5hours and cover around 15miles.  The last climbs will be a bit of push as their steep so make sure you bring some fuel with you to keep from cramping up in the cold weather.  Also layer up as it could be very cold at the tops of some of the hills and wind could be a factor that you don't want sucking energy away from your riding.

Hope to see you out there,

remember... all our rides require a ready to ride mountain bike and helmet.  If you have questions regarding the route or location please feel free to email us directly.  Also by attending any of SanJoseMtb's events you agree to the terms set forth by and understand that mountain biking can be dangerous.  Riders assume all risk in enjoying this awesome sport.

here's my usual route for anyone wanting to get out. I know Mat was thinking he would like to ride still. If others want to ride please feel free to post a comment here.

I've been seriously slacking off from riding lately as I just started a new gig. This will help get the engine started again!

I hear that one. I wouldn't call it slacking on my part so much as adjusting. Either way though... my riding has suffered.
