Afternoon Santa Teresa Multi-Loop ride (Intermediate Ride)

I've been off the bike for way too long already.  My new riding schedule is going to be keeping me much closer to home than the last few months.  Places like Santa Teresa, Saratoga Gap and Skeggs will be more likely than places over the hill.  I'll be doing a Demo ride at least once a month as well as a beginners skills ride.  When things get settled down I'll be doing a Friday evening ride as well.

This first afternoon weekend ride will take place at my absolute favorite South Bay location, Santa Teresa County Park.  The trails here are a mix of fire roads and single track that feature much more rocky terrain than most are really used to.  It's the rocks that keep me coming back.  Unlike the smooth and well packed trails of other locations near us, Santa Teresa's trails are much less predictable.  Lines abound on trails like Rocky Ridge or Stiles.  Some lines will be fast others slow and technical.  The choice is ultimately yours.

On this particular ride we're going to get warmed up with a nice easy ride to the bottom of Stiles via the trail along the horse pasture.  Once we enter the park we'll head up Stiles trail for some super fun technical climbing.  Then it's down the backside towards the parking lot.  Before we get to the parking lot though we'll take the right up Rocky Ridge trail.  After a fun and technically challenging climb up, we'll enjoy the down hill version.  At that point we'll see how we're doing for time.  If we're good then it's the long way around back to the top of Rocky Ridge for round 2.  Once we finish our second trip down we'll start heading back the way we came into the park.  Up and over Stiles trail will get us back to the exit and towards the cars.

This ride, because of the time constraints and mileage planned is recommended for strong riders (not necessarily fast) with intermediate level skills.  We ride as a group though so don't worry about getting dropped if you suffer a bail or mechanical.  We'll hang back and make sure everyone that starts with us finishes with us.

Look forward to sharing this new route with some new and familiar faces,
