Pace: Advanced Beginner. This is NOT a beginner ride. Must have a mountain bike with knobby tires and good brakes. Hybrid bikes not permitted on this ride. Must be comfortable riding XC dirt trails which includes rooty/rocky single tracks and dirt fire roads. Feel free to walk what you don't feel comfortable riding.
Must pack a master chain link and extra tube; otherwise, it may be a long hike back to the car. Bring water and helmet. If you need a bike checkup or tuneup before the ride, consider contacting Arthur at Bike Teacher. He is listed as one of the sponsors on the left menu.
Route: Gap, Long Ridge, Peters Creek, Switchbacks up, and then reverse it back to the parking lot.
Expect about 10 - 12 miles and 2-1/2 to 3 hour ride depending upon how fast the group moves along. We will stop frequent enough for everyone to catch their breath and regroup so no one gets lost.
Yield to bikers riding up, hikers and joggers. Watch speed - rangers radar.
