Santa Cruz Nisene Marks HIKE for the Wounded & Healing (anyone!) 1 of 8

Yes I broke my elbow- but that's not going to stop me from being out on the trails and organizing get-together's. Who's interested in a hike? I am thinking Nisene Marks for the first one- Let's check out those beautiful hiking-only trails.

So- I am going to try to host a hike each Sunday until I am back on the bike (at least 8 weeks). Let's start with this shorter hike:

HOFFMAN'S HISTORIC SITE

$PAY PARKING$

If you want to save $ and space on parking, comment below to meet me at the main entrance parking lot behind Epicenter Bicycles in Aptos- I have room for 2 more people-come about 10 minutes early. Look for my silver 4-runner with the Dirty Jane stickers.

Otherwise, continue driving up Aptos Creek Road until you get to the pay station (pictured above) pay- then continue driving up to George's Picnic Area pictured below- and park. I will be in my silver 4-runner with the Dirty Jane stickers.

We will start with a fire road walk to the trail head.

I always wish I could ride this trail as I pass it on my bike.

6 MILES

2.5 HOURS ROUND TRIP FROM GEORGES PICNIC AREA (JUST BEFORE THE STEEL BRIDGE)

Pack water and snack, etc

Darn! So it turns out you had more than a sprain. Hope it heals well. And, I can relate. I broke my elbow about 2-1/2 years ago biking. Next time I see you we can compare notes. Mine healed well and so will yours.
