Hey Wet Dog,

We're paddling to the famous Caladesi Island this Saturday. Caladesi is voted the number one beach by Dr. Beach and is the top ten best beaches yearly.

We'll put-in at the Dunedin Marina and paddle a mile over to the park entrance leading to the the Caladesi Marina. Park the kayaks on the kayak ramp and walk into the park. There are nice pavilions to eat lunch by or if you bring money they have a nice snack bar loaded with lunch items. After lunch we'll head out for a walk to the famous white sandy beach.

On the the paddle out the park we'll go through the magnificent mangrove trails with an incoming tide then cut back across the inter-coastal towards our way back to the marina.

Paddle difficulty: Appox. three mile paddle across open inter-coastal waters. Considered a beginner paddle and up trip. Must be reasonably fit to make this trip.

Cost: $40 for kayak rental FREE if you bring your own kayak.

Bring: Water, sunscreen, head protection from sun, water shoes or heel toed sandals, NO FLIPFLOPS please due to oyster beds.
