This Weekend in Astoria
Travel the world with no pants

After some much needed time off, WLA?! Weekender is back for your end-of-the-week inbox pleasure! Hopefully you wrapped up '08 with a bang and blush when telling how the New Year began. Catch up with some old friends and make some new ones this weekend as we break our resolutions together.

The wait is over, Wunderbar is officially open. Swing by tonight for lots of bier, food, and music. Then cha-cha your naughty schnitzel over to the American Bolero Dance Company for Tablao Flamenco.

Haul your undressed Christmas trees to Astoria Park Saturday morning for MulchFest. Bring a bag to gather the mulched remains if you can't yet bear to say goodbye to your festive friend.

Get your voice heard at noon on Sunday, as WLA?! invites you to join us for brunch at Las Margaritas for a Round Table discussion.

For those of us who plan to have more than one margarita with our brunch, WLA?! will be participating in the 8th Annual No Pants Subway Ride throughout NYC.

On Sunday afternoon, swing by Santa Rita Church in LIC for a Brazilian fundraiser benfiting Brazilian favelas. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds will go to the public health organization, Mundo Real.

WLA?! Wine Class is back in session. This Sunday at 4p and 5p, dean Dean will be guiding us through wines of the New and Old worlds. But this time, there's food! There are only five more openings, so register now!

Sunday night, Crescent & Vine will be hosting an acoustic show that features several Astoria bands, including Two Seconds to Midnight and AM Preacher.
