WILPF and the Raging Grannies are participating in the Armistice Day event "Ring a Bell for Peace" on November 11 at 11 AM.
Event starts at 10:30 AM and the bell will ring at 11.
Keynote speaker is Mike Paradela. Khalilah Ramirez and Sharat Lin will bring the Dance of Peace to the event, Raging Grannies will sing peace songs.
The first Armistice Day was observed on November 11, 1919, a day of tribute to veterans of the Great War (now known as World War I) and to peace. The name was changed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor veterans of all wars. This event is an Armistice Day event, bringing peace to the day.
Street parking only as the event will be in the parking lot of the San Jose Peace and Justice Center. Tuesday is a federal holiday and San Jose Campus is closed which might mean easier parking. Plan accordingly.
