We have been to Paolo’s home for evenings of great tasting of wines in the past. He is again opening his home as summer is coming to an end for an evening of French Champagnes – perfect for the summer evening.
French Champagne is highly revered and is often associated with celebration and luxury. The Champagne region of France is in the Northern portion of the country, northeast of Paris and near the Belgian border. The Montagne de Reims, Valle de la Marne and Cote des Blancs house thousands of vineyards and Champagne producers. The climate of the area is cooler than that of the more Southern French vineyards, and the growing season is shorter. The weather is part of what naturally made Champagne's bubbles, initially. The region is also characterized by chalky soil and rolling hills.
We will enjoy this evening of French Champagnes in Paolo’s outdoor patio which has outdoor tables and chairs, comfy outdoor sofa seating, 2 BBQ’s, and an outdoor fireplace. Everyone (including guests) must bring a bottle of French Champagne (NO Cava, Prosecco, Spumante, American bubbly or bubbly from anywhere else…zero, zip, zilch, nada). French Champagnes start at about $25 and you can find them at your local wine shops. Please bring something that pairs well with French Champagne enough for 10 people. Smoked salmon, shrimp, sushi, Chinese food, Japanese food, Thai food, bacon, fried chicken, crab, lobster, curries, quiche, scallops and spicy foods in general are just some of the foods that works well with French Champagne. You can also bring something to grill. Please bring your own wine glass (champagne flutes if you have them) & serving utensils. There are no ovens & microwaves, so please be sure that your appetizer is good to go. Please no cheese & crackers & hummus.
When you RSVP, please state the name of the French Champagne wine you & your guest (if you are bringing a guest) are bringing to the party.
We will be collecting $1 from everyone attending. Please have exact change.
It should be a great night.
This fun party is limited to 26, so if you RSVP “Going” and your plans change, please update your RSVP accordingly. NO MAYBES. When you RSVP "Going" you must have a photo of yourself uploaded in order to attend the wine tasting party – no exceptions. NO FLAKES!
Paolo’s address, directions and phone number will be provided the day before (9/13) to those who RSVP “Going”.
Look forward to seeing you there! There is street parking in Paolo’s neighborhood. Meters end at 6 PM. The party ends at about 8 PM.
