How did you hear about the NYC Italian Language, Food & Culture Club?

I searched "Italian" on

What kinds of events would you like our group to host?

I would like some events where the focus on learing the foods and wine of the different regions of Italy. I would like to also undertake events where food and wine is the pleasant sideshow while the gathering is used in a fun and engaging way to teach people about the Italian language and culture, contemporary Italy, and Italian-American history and culture.

What inspired you to learn Italian?

I was born in the United States, but lived in Italy as a child from ages 2.5 to 5. When I returned to the US I entered school without speaking English. Learning Spanish inspired me to re-learn Italian. My parents also speak primarily Italian and I wanted to be able to communicate with them. I am also inspired by the sounds of the Italian language.

Do you have any expertise related to Italian language, food or culture that might be useful in planning our future events and activities?

I have played a role in Italian organizations. I was the National President of an organization for students and young professionals a decade ago. I have organized events on Italian and Italian- American culture and have access to experts and artist who would make wonderful guest speakers or performers. (I'd like to make specific suggestions, including for an event coming up on Aug. 9, 2012.)

What level of Italian do you speak? 1. Beginner 2. Conversant 3. Advanced/Native

Dear All, For over 25 years I have been working in government, public policy, non profits and business development. While I continue consulting on nonprofit and business services, I have expanded my focus into arts and entertainment. Roberto
